Phone didn’t get a security code

If you didn’t receive a security code, check whether you entered your phone number correctly.

  • Did you enter a wrong phone number? Look for the option to enter it again. If you have a non-U.S. number, make sure you select the correct country code.
  • If you have a landline, please make sure to pick the “Phone call” option under “How would you like to receive your security code?” We cannot send a text message to landlines.
  • If you have an international phone number, make sure you select to receive the security code by text message. login.gov does not support sending security codes by phone call to international numbers at this time.
  • If it’s the right number, make sure you have service and request the code again. You can receive the code by text message or by a phone call.
